How Will You Care For Yourself in Winters?

Winter is the most awaited season and is loved by all the people alike due to the obvious reasons like it lasts for a relatively shorter time, you can enjoy eating steaming hot foods, you can enjoy that deep winter slumber in the blanket. But at the same time, it also brings a lot of changes in the skin and demands much greater care during winters.

The skin becomes relatively dry as compared to other months and need moisturizing about every 2-3 hours in winters. It is also relatively difficult to combat dandruff during winters. Also there are chances of catching cough and cold during these months. Mentioned below are some of the things you can do to take that extra care of yourself and your near and dear ones in winter.

  • Eat the right food- If you want to speed up your metabolism, eat warmer foodstuffs like cashews, nuts, vinegar, mustard greens, etc. They will help you stay healthy and will speed up your metabolism during the cold season.

  • Eat according to the season- There are some fruits and vegetables that are available with the seasons. Seasonal foodstuffs often carry the right nutritional value for your body and help combat infections and flu. Therefore, we must eat these seasonal fruits to boost up the nutritional profile. Also, they are relatively tasty and new to our plate.

  • Sleep well- They say that your body requires about 8-10 hours of sleep in winters to rejuvenate itself. Try sleeping at the right time and please avoid sleeping late as it prevents body from engaging in deep sleep.

  • Get some sunlight- They say morning sun is good for health but these days even that is very unbearable even in the morning. But during winters, it’s time to get some Vitamin-D. Stay in sunlight for some time, it is even more refreshing.

  • Stay hydrated- This is one of the common pieces of advice that goes with all the seasons. Yes, you must stay hydrated at all times, all the 365 days of the year. It combats diseases and helps you fight infections and other ailments. Staying hydrated does so many things that you can think of and is that one habit you will forever be grateful for.

  • Moisturize your skin- Your skin becomes dry during winters and a good moisturizer is all you need to keep your skin hydrated. Apply moisturizer every three to four hours for the best results.

  • Oil your hair- Regular oiling of the hair with coconut oil will give them nourishment and prevent greying of hair due to oxidation. Use an anti-hair-fall and anti- dandruff shampoo to get rid of dandruff and hair-fall.
